Dust Suppressant Application Rescheduled to the week of July 13, 2026

Please be advised that dust suppressant application is scheduled for the week of July 13, 2026, weather permitting.

To allow our mowing contractors to begin roadside mowing operations, the RM Maintenance Department has moved the green application stakes further from the road’s edge and into the ditch.  Ratepayers are welcome to verify the measurements of their application sites, but please ensure the stakes remain in the ditch and entirely off of the road surface

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we complete these seasonal projects. Because this application is highly dependent on weather conditions, please check the municipal website regularly for updates and rescheduling notices.

Reminder Dust Suppressant Forms Due May 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

What’s new for 2026?

  • The Municipality revised order options and billing calculations to align with our contractor’s processes and measurements.
    • Litre-Based Billing: To ensure maximum accuracy and efficiency, the Municipality has transitioned from “per foot” billing to a price-per-litre applied model.
    • Metric Ordering:  The width and length of the dust suppressant application site will be in metric units.
    • Application Rates:  Ratepayers can choose between the regular application rate of 1.5 litres/metre or a heavier application rate of 2.0 litres/metre.
    • Application Width:  The contractor’s recommendation is to choose an application width to match the width of road to assist in the reduction of dust. For example, 3 metres for driveways, 4.5 or 6 metres for most roads, and 9 metres for wider roads (such as Grid Roads 662, 650, 753 and the Dyck Memorial Road).
  • Policy: TS300 Dust Suppressant Policy was adopted at the April 15, 2026 Council Meeting.
  • Price: Dust suppressant is charged at $0.45 per litre plus PST.
  • Deadline: The Dust Control Contract of Understanding must be received in the Municipal Office by 4:00 p.m. on May 11, 2026 – NO EXCEPTIONS and NO REMINDERS.  Ordering must be completed through the Municipal Office and cannot be placed through Council, the Contractor or the Maintenance Department.

Additional Information:

  • The contractor is the same as previous years.
  • The date for application is tentatively set for the last week in May.  The start date is dependant on the weather and the supplier’s schedule.  Updates can be found on the Municipal Website: https://rm333.ca/
